Sasha was born in Poltava in the Soviet Union in 1967. She undertook her school education in Poltava until she was awarded a coveted scholarship to the Performing Arts Centre in Leningrad (now St Petersburg). Her performance during training attracted much positive attention which led to Sasha being awarded another scholarship to undertake further training
