Meet the founder: Throughout the 80’s and early 90’s, Adelaide, South Australia, was the undisputed epicenter for creative radio and sound production in the Southern Hemisphere – rivalling top studios in the UK and USA. It was into this critically acclaimed environment that Astbury Audio’s founder and Creative Director, Justin Astbury, learned his craft. As fate would have it, Justin achieved his dream of undertaking his ‘apprenticeship’ at the world famous Street Remley Studios, in Adelaide, under the direct tutelage of the legendary Street Remley, himself. Learning all aspects of recording studio work, Justin learned how to coach and produce talent to optimise the production values and create wonderful ‘theatre of the mind’, directly from Street. A very tough task-master, Street Remley Studios recorded some of the biggest artists across the globe, resulting in some of the finest, most recognised campaigns of all time. Following his ‘apprenticeship’ years at Street Remley Studios, Justin also worked at NWS Channel 9, Timms Tunes, Tracks Adelaide, Oasis Post and Kojo, and now heads up his own studio under the name Astbury Audio.
