Stanley Mackay planted his first banana crop in North Queensland in 1945 beginning family tradition that has lasted 65 years. Stanley Mackay pioneered the banana industry in Northern Australia and was awarded Australia's highest honour the 'Medal of the Order of Australia’ in 1985.
